1) Product mix is again leading the inquiry.

China steel export buying on October 10 is being shaped less by a single benchmark and more by which products can be priced, certified and loaded on time. Shanghai Metals Market reported fresh Tianjin port feedback for cold-rolled coil, with DC01 1.0*1250*C material for end-November shipment quoted at $556 per tonne FOB.

That coil signal matters because buyers are comparing it with long-product availability, including rebar and sections, before they decide whether to split orders or consolidate cargo. A mixed finished-steel booking can look efficient on paper, but it only works when coil packing, bundle marking, mill certificates and port timing move together.

2) Trade friction is still part of the price.

The trade screen also remains active. A recent UK trade remedies notice keeps anti-dumping duty on wire rod originating from China, while wider steel-market coverage continues to point to weak domestic Chinese demand and overseas resistance to low-priced material.

For buyers, that means FOB comparison alone is not enough. The origin statement, HS code, certificate wording and destination import rule should be checked before the order is treated as executable, especially for wire rod, rebar, coated coil and other products that often sit near trade-remedy boundaries.

3) Port execution separates real offers from noise.

Port execution is becoming a bigger part of supplier selection after China's National Day holiday window. Coil cargo needs moisture protection, tight strapping and clean label control; rebar and structural sections need bundle stability, weight discipline and handling space that matches vessel cut-off dates.

A low price can lose its value if the loading plan is vague. Buyers should ask whether the quoted port, packing method and shipment period are already aligned with mill production, trucking, customs declaration and available vessel space.

4) YQ Steel's working view for October 10.

YQ Steel reads today's market as selective but active. China's export product mix remains broad, but the cleaner orders are the ones that connect product specification, trade documentation and port execution before price negotiation reaches the final round.

For new inquiries, send product name, standard, grade, size range, quantity, destination port, target shipment date, packing requirement and any destination-specific certificate or anti-dumping concern at the start. That gives the supplier enough detail to quote both the steel and the execution route.
